The André Hoffmann Prize was first awarded during the twelfth edition of the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad. Its purpose is to promote contemporary music by presenting a 5,000 Swiss franc reward to the best rendition of a piece by one of the talented young persons who performs in the Gstaad Chapel.
