The Thierry Scherz Prize was awarded this year to two young violinists: the Kazakh musician Ruslan Talas and the French violinist Thomas Briant, both praised for the depth and virtuosity of their performance.

Thomas Briant was awarded the André Hoffmann Prize for his outstanding interpretation of Bleu sur bleu, an unpublished work by Yves Chauris.

Renaud Capuçon has been artistic director of the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad since the 2016 season.
